Former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan has said he is not interested in contesting the 2019 general elections. He denied the speculations that have been flying around.
According to Daily Post, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has denied a report that he is interested in contesting the 2019 presidential election.
An online medium had reported that Jonathan declared interest to run for presidency in 2019 in Bayelsa yesterday, adding that the former president was inundated with calls from Nigerians to recontest and salvage the economy from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
But Daily Sun quotes Jonathan’s media aide, Ikechukwu Eze, as denying the former president is considering taking another shot at the presidency.
Eze added that the former president never made any declaration on 2019 election, either in May or this month.
